Bo's Story

Permanent Solutions, Permanent Results

If you have one or more missing teeth, you may be struggling to bite and chew or feel embarrassed to talk, laugh, and socialize. While posing many dental issues, missing teeth can result in changes to your facial appearance, a decline in your oral health, and even an increase in discomfort and self-consciousness.

No matter how many teeth you may be missing, put your dental fears and concerns to rest with our modern-day, top-of-the-line solution: dental implants. Dental implants are permanent tooth replacements to restore your oral health, smile esthetics, and dental function for decades to come! Oral surgeons, J. Brian Jackson DMD, MD, and John Roberson, DMD are not only experienced and trained in placing dental implants, but they can also provide your new smile with precise and predictable results so you can enjoy a truly customized smile.

The Characteristics of a Dental Implant

Here at Midtown Oral & Facial Surgery, you can expect every piece of your treatment to be personalized to your unique oral health needs and smile goals. We’ll start with an in-depth consultation with Drs. Jackson and Roberson where we’ll discuss your dental and medical history, complete a full oral examination, and take digital x-rays and images of your current oral state.

On the day of your surgery, we will administer your preferred sedation method. Depending on your unique oral health needs, your dental implant procedure may involve tooth extractions or bone grafting, depending on your dental guide. Utilizing our specialized treatment plan, we will place your dental implants into your jawbone at a 45-degree angle to ensure optimal support is provided. Inserting your dental implants in the jawbone limits bone recession and ensures your dental implants stay put and last a lifetime.

You’ll be resting comfortably under sedation and remain pain-free during your surgery. In many cases, we’re able to attach a temporary tooth or set of teeth at this same appointment! As your mouth heals over the next three months, you’ll be able to enjoy the immediate benefits of dental implants such as enjoying your favorite foods and restored smile esthetics.

Single Tooth Replacement

Missing one tooth may leave you feeling self conscious about your smile, but it can also create larger issues in your mouth and jaw. Teeth may shift to fill the gap or you may find yourself unable to chew certain foods. A single dental implant can be used to replace the missing tooth and serve as a permanent solution to these problems.

Multiple Tooth Replacement

Having to replace multiple teeth can seem daunting when involving bridges and crowns that need replacements or partial dentures that require adhesive and food restrictions. With dental implants, multiple teeth can be replaced with just one post to restore your smile for you to enjoy for a lifetime.

Removable dentures that attach to surgical implant posts create a healthy smile while limiting bone recession. Implant supported dentures attach to your mouth securely without the need of adhesive to stay in place while allowing patients the option to take them out for cleaning.

Full Mouth Dental Implants

If you have many missing or failing teeth, you may qualify for full mouth dental implants that are permanently fixed in your mouth just like natural teeth. Your brand new set of teeth are attached to four or more posts that are implanted into your jawbone to restore your function and cosmetic benefits of a healthy new smile.

Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?

The installation procedure for our affordable dental implants is comfortable and painless as you are relaxing in a sedated state. Once your surgery is finished, you may experience some pain and swelling immediately after. Once your implants have some time to heal, they should function and feel just like normal teeth.

Most of our dental implant surgeries take about 2.5 hours per full mouth dental implant. If you’re receiving a single dental implant, the procedure can last anywhere from 1 to 2 hours.

Showing off that brand new, permanent smile is exciting! But ensuring your recovery from the initial implant surgery is completely healed and can take about 12 weeks. Once the swelling has subsided, we can create your dental restoration that will sit permanently on the implant.
